The Anthropology Department offers a Bachelor or Arts in Anthropology, a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology, an anthropology minor, as well as a combined major in sociology/anthropology leading to a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Anthropology.

Dr. Strand publishes article on farming and reforestation in Norway

The article discusses local responses to reforestation in rural mountain Norway, where trees are growing in due changes in (agri)cultural practice. While reforestation is often understood to be a good thing on a global scale, it is a profoundly regrettable loss in this local context, where open mountain landscapes are part of a cherished cultural heritage.

Professor Hernandez examines the ethics of doing aerial laser scans of Indigenous homelands and ancestral remains. He argues that consent and collaboration are key to overcoming age-old colonial practices that persist in archaeology.
